(A) CATARRH, CORYZA & SNEEZING

In the Unani system of medicine, there are generally two types of cold: hot catarrh and cold catarrh. Updated information suggests that the mucous membrane of the nose and throat becomes inflamed due to bacterial impact and viral attacks, leading to the flow of catarrhal secretion from the nose or dripping in the throat. Coryza refers to the running of the nose, while catarrh describes the secretion flowing in the throat. Children often experience mild cold and cough with fever prior to viral diseases like measles, mumps, and smallpox. The patient may exhibit lethargy, headaches, body aches, and a running nose with cough and throat irritation.
